In late 2024, Parastoo Ahmadi became involved in a controversy after she performed her Caravanserai Concert at an Iranian caravanserai and livestreamed it on her YouTube channel. During the concert, she appeared publicly without wearing Hijab, which attracted massive attention on social media.
After the concert, Iranian authorities stated that the performance had taken place without taking prior proper permissioan and did not follow legal and religious rules.

  • Parastoo Ahmadi was born and raised in Nowshahr, Iran.
  • She is interested in performing arts sinch childhood and began taking courses in solfège and voice training (in folk music and classical music) at the age of 14.

  • During the 2022 protests in Iran, Parastoo came into attention after she performed the patriotic song “From the Blood of the Youth of the Homeland.”

  • Iranian Judiciary Officials announced legal action against Parastoo Ahmandi and other people involved in organizing the event, stating that the concert was performed without taking proper permission and also, she did not follow religious and legal rules.
  • On 14 December 2024, she was arrested in Iran’s Mazandaran province. Two musicians from her team Ehsan Birghiday and Sohail Faquh Nasiri, were also detained.
