Controversy	Throwing ink at Abhijeet Dipke On 18 July 2026 at around 1.20 pm, men's rights activist Barkha Trehan threw ink at Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), during a protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar while he was addressing his supporters. As Dipke continued his speech, Trehan walked up to the stage and splashed ink on him. CJP supporters immediately intervened, pulled her away from the stage, and took her to the Parliament Street Police Station. Trehan later said the protest was not political and that she had no ties to any political party. She said she supported peaceful protests but accused the CJP event of becoming a political gathering instead of focusing on the NEET issue. In posts on X, Trehan said Dipke laughed when remarks against Lord Ram were made from the stage. Describing herself as a "Kattar Hindu," she said she found the comments deeply offensive and also alleged that objectionable remarks had been made about Goddess Sita during the protest. Trehan further alleged that CJP supporters beat her and pulled her hair after the incident. She also charged the organisers with leveraging Sonam Wangchuk's name for political gain and drew parallels with social activist Anna Hazare. Dipke said the incident would not discourage him, noting that he had previously been slapped during a CJP protest in Jaipur. In a post on X, he wrote, "Blue is my colour," referring to the ink thrown at him. The Delhi Police later clarified that Trehan was only removed from the protest venue. She was not arrested and no criminal case was registered against her.

• Barkha Trehan’s journey in the world of ‘men’s rights activists’ began when someone she knew was framed in what she believed was a false ‘rape case’.

• At first, the accused wasn’t culpable, but when his mother told her that the claims had got the accused to the point that he began considering suicide, she changed her mind.

• She has also remembered that the “Rohtak girls” incident itself was another remarkable event in which the boys who were charged faced the humiliation and emotionally charged trauma and then the “alleged” provocation that was followed by the “narco test” giving a negative result; thus proving the allegations false.

• The incidents inspired her to put her efforts into people she felt were being treated unfairly under the laws concerning gender.

• Trehan is also a chairperson of organization named Purush Aayog which fights for the rights and campaigns for amendments of the laws related to dowry laws, marital conflicts, domestic violence and child custody and maintenance.

• She has been arguing for establishment of a commission for men in India (statutory) to record the men related cases and deliver policy guidelines.
