- He was a well-known kabaddi player since childhood in Tarn Taran.
- Later, he represented Punjab Kabaddi team at national level.
- In 2008, Dhillon rose to fame when he served as the captain of the Indian kabaddi team, where he represented India in kabadi competitions held in several countries.
- During his international kabaddi career, he became known as an international-level kabaddi player from Punjab. His career was from the era before the Pro Kabaddi League became widely popular.
- After retiring from international kabaddi, he continued to work for kabaddi through his association with Kabaddi Adda, Chandigarh as a Sports Specialist.
