Maninder Singh, a prominent Indian Kabaddi player, is renowned for his participation in the Pro Kabaddi League, playing for the Bengal Warriors and Jaipur Pink Panthers teams. His professional debut came in 2014 with the Jaipur Pink Panthers.

His Kabaddi journey began in school, followed by joining the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Kabaddi Club to pursue professional training. At the club, he honed his skills under expert coaches like Hanumat Singh.

His big break came when he received an invitation from Jaipur Pink Panthers for trials. He traveled by bus from his village to give out the trials.

Maninder is employed by the Punjab Police in Jalandhar, Punjab, and represents Punjab in the Senior Nationals. As of 2023, he is a Raider for Bengal Warriors.

The highlight of his 2014 season was becoming the top raider with 130 raid points across just 16 matches. An injury forced him to miss the subsequent three seasons of the Pro Kabaddi League.

Making a strong comeback in Season 5, Maninder scored 190 raid points with the Bengal Warriors. His captivating performance led to his retention by the team for Seasons 6, 7, and 8.

In Season 7, the team opted for Maninder as the captain over PO Surjeet Singh, who had previously led for two seasons.

During a game against the Patna Pirates, he became the second-fastest raider, trailing only Pardeep Narwal. Even in his absence, Bengal Warriors clinched their first PKL title by overcoming Dabang Delhi in The Arena.

For the 2021-22 Pro Kabaddi League’s eighth season, Maninder was once again chosen as Bengal Warriors’ captain. In a remarkable feat against U Mumba, he scored 17 raid points, making up 100% of his team’s raid points in that match. He was retained as captain for the ninth season.

Maninder’s love for Kabaddi was ignited by his father, who played and taught him the sport. He initially played ‘Circle Kabaddi’ in his village, a form more common in Punjab and Haryana, before being guided by coach Paramjit Singh from the Punjab Police. This led him to take up the sport on a professional level.

Maninder holds the view that Anup Kumar and Surjeet Singh also genuinely deserve captaincy of the team.

Apart from his sports career, Maninder Singh serves as a brand ambassador for various health supplements companies, such as Fuel One, and other organizations like Vision 11.

Maninder Singh was ruled out of the final of season 7 of the Pro Kabaddi League because he dislocated his shoulder and became injured. ^[4]The Hindu

Maninder Singh thinks of Ran Singh as one of his best friends who is also a kabaddi player. They have played together on the Jaipur Pink Panthers and Bengal Warriors teams. They once shared a room and also worked together as police officers in Punjab for a little while. Then Ran quit the job.

When they have free time, Maninder and Ran enjoy playing volleyball.
