She also set the national record of 6.73m in the Long Jump in the championship. However, her records were erased and she was dropped from the contingent after she failed a dope test.
- Inclined toward sports since childhood, she started her athletic journey as a runner with 100m and 200m sprints before switching to long jump and triple jump. In an interview, she said,
I started at the age of eight and I was initially doing 100m and 200m. But later, switched to jumps. I was interested in sports and my uncle was a decathlete.”
- Although she forayed into sports at a very young age, her true potential was recognised after joining Alva’s Foundation for her higher studies and sports training in Mudbidri, Karnataka, where she met coach Vasanth Jogi. Until then, she was training to be a sprinter, but Jogi assessed that she had better potential in the long jump despite her short height. Thereafter, she switched to the long jump.
- Aishwarya B and Nandan Kumar grew up as neighbours near Anekal, close to the Tamil Nadu border. They grew apart after Kumar moved to Bengaluru with his brother. However, after a decade of no communication, their parents arranged their marriage.
- In 2017, she was honoured by the Gaonkar’s School of Jumpers (GSJ).

- Aishwarya B was discovered by Pramila Aiyappa, the 2010 Asian Games heptathlon bronze medallist, who later became a state sports officer and in charge of South West Railways. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Pramila took Aishwarya to a Railway selection trial and then started training her. Later, Pramila’s husband, BP Aiyappa, became Aishwarya’s coach.
- When Sree Kantheerava Stadium, where Aishwarya and BP Aiyappa used to train, was shut down due to the pandemic they travelled outside Bangalore for training. In an interview, while recalling the difficulties faced by Aishwarya, BP Aiyappa said,
We had struggled a lot, going to Vidyanagar everyday except for Saturday, it is nearly 35 km from Bangalore. It was tough. We had to take special passes but the state government, JSW, AFI and SAI had supported us a lot.”
- In September 2021, she won a gold medal with a leap of 13.55m in the triple jump at the Indian National Open Athletics Championships, Warangal. She also secured the first rank in Long Jump with a leap of 6.52m.

Her performance also set a new record in the history of the national athletics meet as she surpassed the earlier distance of 6.63m, which was set by Mayookha Johny in 2011. Moreover, 6.73m became the second best long jump mark by an Indian woman athlete after 6.83m, marked by Anju Bobby George in Athens back in 2004.
Additionally, she smashed the triple jump national record with a stunning effort of 14.14m at the meet, breaking the national record of Mayookha Johny’s 2011 record of 14.11m.
