• Andrea has loved sports, especially football, since childhood. At 18, he left home to become a professional footballer.

• Andrea started playing for AC Cesena in 2010. In between, he was loaned to AC Bellaria Igea Marina (2010) and AC Giacomense (2011) to gain experience. After these loan spells, he became a regular player for Cesena.

• On 1 November 2013, Andrea scored his first goal for Cesena in a match against Ternana Calcio.

• On 16 November 2013, he extended his contract with AC Cesena that lasted until 2017.

• Andrea played well for AC Cesena in the first half of the 2013-14 Serie B season. Because of that, he moved on loan to Serie A team Cagliari Calcio on 27 January 2014 with a chance to join them permanently later.

• A few days after joining Cagliari, Andrea was loaned to Leeds United on the January transfer deadline day. The decision was taken just hours after reports came out that Leeds’ manager Brian McDermott had been removed from his job.

• Later in 2014, Gianluca Festa joined Leeds as manager and helped Andrea by acting as his translator while McDermott was briefly removed. At the time, the Football League was still checking if Andrea’s transfer was allowed.

• Andrea’s time at Leeds came to an end on 7 February 2014, when the move was called off as it did not meet the Football Leagues’ rules. As a result, he went back to Cagliari.

• Tabanelli played his first match for Cagliari Calcio on 12 April 2014, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 1-1 draw match against Sassuolo Calcio.
