Controversy	Ordering The Police To Not Allow Athletes To Use The Sree Kanteerava Stadium In 2017, Anupam Agrawal gained significant attention when, during his tenure as the director of Sree Kanteerava Stadium, he prevented athletes from accessing the track. Allegedly, he instructed them to stay out and stationed police officers to guard the facility while his wife used it for exercising. He also directed the local police station to file a First Information Report (FIR) against anyone attempting to enter the stadium forcibly. A national-level athlete expressed his disappointment over the issue, in an interview, and said, "We were stranded in front of the gate for a long time and were informed that we wouldn’t be allowed inside the stadium. With no option left, we all were forced to go to Cubbon Park for practice." Pramod Madhwaraj, who served as the Minister of Youth Services Department and Animal Husbandry at the time, condemned Anupam's actions and demanded an inquiry into his orders to the police department that forced the athletes to not use the stadium's track for training purposes. While giving an interview, Pramod said, "The stadium is not the government’s property, nor the property of Anupam Agarwal. It’s the property of the citizens of this state. • Anupam Agrawal is an IPS officer of the 2008 batch of the Karnataka cadre. In September 2023, he gained significant attention when he took charge as the Commissioner for the Mangaluru Police.

• Anupam relocated to Mumbai from Rajasthan in 2006 and began his employment at The Phoenix Mills Ltd, where he remained until 2008.

• In 2007, Agrawal took the UPSC civil services exam and passed it; he managed to secure AIR 103 in the exams.
