  • Bickram Ghosh is known for his extraordinary virtuosity and dexterity on tabla and is widely recognized for his work in experimental fusion music.
  • He is well known for being an accompanist for Pt. Ravi Shankar with whom he played for over a decade. He played on Ravi Shankar’s album “Full Circle” which won a Grammy.

  • Bickram has also played on George Harrison’s album Brainwashed which eventually received a Grammy Award.

  • Bickram’s band Rhythmscape which is a fusion of different styles of music made it’s UK debut in 2003 at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London. In 2004, the band also performed at the forum at Barcelona where they shared stage with Bob Dylan, The Sting, Norah Jones and Phil Collins. In 2005, they did a sold-out show at the rhythm sticks festival in London.

  • He also played the final performance of commonwealth games in 2010 at New Delhi among 17 other topmost musicians from India.
  • In 2010, Ghosh launched his own production company by the name Melting Pot Productions.
  • Ghosh performed at the 150th birth anniversary of Tagore celebrations at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
  • In 2011, he was appointed as the brand ambassador for the Indian election commission in West Bengal which increased the overall participation by 8.5 percent.
  • Ghosh has composed for over 38 feature films. He teamed up with Bollywood singer star Sonu Nigam and together they co-composed for the film “Jal (2013)” which got an Oscar nomination for the best original score.

  • In 2014, Bickram Ghosh Academy of Performing Arts was commenced to learn Indian music and dance and has three centres in Kolkata where people learn music and dance. Ghosh was also planning to open more learning centres in Sinagapore and London.

  • Bickram has also performed at Darbar Festival which is an Indian classical music and dance festival that takes place annually for three months in London to promote north Indian Hindustani and south Indian Carnatic classical traditions.
