  • As a child, Hodge fancied himself as a fast bowler over batsman but he himself found it a misfortune that he did not grow as tall as a fast bowler should be.
  • Dean Jones named him “Glovelick” for the fact that he shared a bunk bed with his brother at the time of his debut for Victorian Bushrangers. He got his nickname ‘Bunkie’ for the exact same reason.
  • Having been a part of the Australian time in an era of their dominance, he was the most unlucky member in the list. Despite the fact he had an average of more than 55, he did not get any chance in the test format after he had completed his 6 matches and almost all of the matches he got to play was because of some experienced player’s injury.
  • Hodge began playing in IPL in 2008 for Kolkata Knight Riders, but it was in 2012 that Rajasthan Royals bought him for $475,000 against his base price of $200,000. He later came on to coach Gujarat Lions in 2016.
