• After completing his bachelor degree in Finance, he started his professional banking career as an analyst with a global finance firm, Credit Suisse, based in New York.

• From 2018 to 2020, he served as an associate in the Strategic Credit Solutions Group, The Carlyle Group, where he worked in strategic credit and private equity related roles.

• In 2020, Rana joined Morgan Stanley Investment Management, as an investment professional where he was responsible for underwriting, executing, and monitoring private credit investments.

• In March 2024, Rana joined JPMorgan, where he focused on originating, structuring, and underwriting sponsor-backed credit opportunities within the software and technology sectors.

• In May 2025, Chirayu joined Bregal Sagemount, New York. At Bregal Sagemount, he handles origination and underwriting investments across the software, healthcare, financial technology, business services, and consumer services sectors.

• In April 2026, Chirayu Rana came into news after he filed a lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase’s executive director of leveraged finance team, Lorna Hajdini for sexually assaulting him. He filed the lawsuit under pseudonym John Doe.

• According to the suit, after a month of joining the firm in April 2024, a pattern of sexual harassment, sexual assault, racial harassment, and workplace intimidation began with him.

• He added that Hajdini drugged him with Rohypnol and Viagra and even threatened him to reduce his bonus if he did not fulfil his sexual desires.

• According to the court documents at one point, Lorna allegedly came to his house without prior information and forced him into a sexual act. Additionally, she called him her” little brown boy” and oftenly questioned whether senior management would accept “an Indian-origin person” in a leadership role. She treated Rana as “Sex Slave”

• In his lawsuit Chirayu also accused JPMorgan Chase as a defendant and said the firm did not take the action against her on the internal complaint he filed in May 2025.

• However, a spokesperson for JPMorgan denied all the allegations made by Rana and said,

Following an investigation, we don’t believe there’s any merit to these claims. While numerous employees cooperated with the investigation, the complainant refused to participate and has declined to provide facts that would be central to support his allegations.”

• During the interval investigation, a former colleague described Rana as “socially awkward” but still capable of doing his job properly. The report also said that Lorna and Rana were just colleagues working in the same leveraged finance team; however, they both reported to different managing directors of the firm. This suggested that Lorna did not have direct authority over Rana, including control over his bonus or any other career decisions.

• Lorna Hajdini also denied the allegations. She issued a statement through her lawyers stating that,

Lorna categorically denies the allegations. She never engaged in any inappropriate conduct with this individual of any kind and has never even been to the location where the alleged sexual assault supposedly took place.”

• Attorney Daniel J. Kaiser is representing Chirayu Rana’s lawsuit. According to him, after the sexual abuse Rana has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.
