Some Lesser Known Facts About Chris Dixon
- Since childhood Chris Dixon was tech-savvy. He began programming at the age of 8 on a TRS-80 desktop microcomputer.
- According to him, he learnt to code on his own. His parents are both English professors at the Wittenberg University. He attended various Computer Science camps.
- After completing his graduation from Columbia University, he took up a job as a developer at a hedge fund in the Wall Street. He worked there for almost three years.
- In 2005, he co-founded a web advisor startup named SiteAdvisor, which was later acquired by security company McAfee in 2006.
- In 2009, he co-founded a recommendation engine named Hunch along with an American entrepreneur, Caterina Fake. In 2011, Hunch was acquired by eBay for $75 million.
- While creating Hunch, he made personal investments in various technical startups including David Frankel, Bill Trenchard, and Eric Paley.
