Cory Bowman grew up in Ohio and Florida as his father frequently relocated between the two cities for his custom home-building work.

While growing up, Cory Bowman lived separately from J. D. Vance, who was adopted and raised by someone else.

In 2020, Cory Bowman started working as a Pastor at The River Church in Cincinnati.

His wife, Jordan, is originally from Oklahoma. During his studies at the University of South Florida, Bowman met her.

As far as the relationship with JD, I tell people he’s my brother, he’s not a political counselor to me. He is not somebody that planted me here in this city.”

During a political campaign, Mayor Aftab Pureval criticised Cory Bowman for not voting in the last local election.

Cory Bowman then explained in the media that his contest for mayor was motivated by a strong love for Cincinnati and a wish to serve the community through faith, economics, and leadership.

He also mentioned that he did not have his half-brother J. D. Vance’s official support in the electoral campaigns.

Reportedly, Vance chose to remain publicly neutral and did not actively endorse Cory Bowman.
