Some Lesser Known Facts About Danny Ramirez

Danny Ramirez traces his roots to Mexico through his mother and to Colombia through his father.

When he was seven years old, Danny’s mother moved with him and his sisters to Miami, where he later completed his primary and secondary education.

During his school years, Danny hoped to become a professional athlete. He initially considered a career in American football but later became more serious about soccer.

While studying at Miami Coral Park Senior High School, he actively played both football and soccer. He broke his collarbone during a game against North Miami Beach, but was so determined to keep playing that he forged a doctor’s signature to stay on the team.

After finishing high school in 2011, he joined Oglethorpe University in Atlanta and played as a midfielder on the men’s soccer team. He, however, suffered an ankle sprain during his freshman year, which kept him off the field for a while.

On his nineteenth birthday, while still recovering from his injury, he got the chance to appear as a background soccer player in the film ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’ (2012), which was being filmed on a nearby field.

While on the set of ”The Reluctant Fundamentalist,’ he spent time observing actor Riz Ahmed, which sparked his interest in acting.

Inspired by actor Riz Ahmed’s performance and his overall experience on the set, Danny decided to leave college and move to New York City, where he began modelling and enrolled at NYU Poly.

Danny later found out about auditions for NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and delivered a strong monologue that earned him admission.
