Controversy | Fined for hurting a woman during brawl On 19 June 2022, he and his friend were celebrating the Carnaval celebration on the Canary Islands when a fight broke out between them and a group of other people. During the brawl, Silva pulled a 19-year old girl due to which she suffered injuries in her back, bruises, elbows and knees. In September 2022, he was fined €1,080 ($1,066) for hurting the woman. |

- David Silva liked playing football since childhood and played with his cousin and friends in the streets. Sometimes, he played with a potato as a football.
- He used to watch football matches of senior players as a ballboy and once broke his hand while trying to stop a ball from going out of the stadium; however, he came to the field a week later with a cast in his hand.
- He initially played as a goalkeeper but later became a winger.
- When he was 12 years old, he went to Real Madrid Stadium with his family and impressed then-Real Madrid manager Vicente del Bosque with his skills; however, they told him that he was too small to play for them, so he came back to the Canary Islands.
- When he turned 14, he joined Valencia CF Youth Academy and trained there till the age of 17.
