  • Dharmanna Kadur is an Indian actor who is known for his works in the Kannada entertainment industry. He is popular for playing comedic roles in Kannada films like Rama Rama Re… (2016), Mugulu Nage (2017), Man of the Match (2022), and Rajayoga (2023).
  • As a kid, while watching plays in his hometown, he developed an interest in the performing arts and theatre. In an interview, he recalled his childhood memories and said,

    I have grown up watching plays all night in my hometown. My father and aunt would sing kolata and sobana padagalu. In school, I have acted in many plays like Kuvempu’s ‘Jalagara’, ‘Kalki’, and ‘Ondu Bogase Neeru’.”

  • Growing up, he was influenced by films like Gauri Ganesha (1991) and Policena Hendthi (1990), starring renowned comedians Anant Nag and Shashi Kumar.
  • Dharmanna, known for his humorous nature in school, often entertained his classmates by mimicking various actors.
  • Dharmanna Kadur started his acting career alongside Nataraj and director D Satya Prakash.     We travelled all over Karnataka staging plays. Then, each of us went our separate ways following our dreams. When we reconnected, we realised that we shared a common love for cinema. We got together for Daali Dhananjaya’s short film, Jayanagara 4th Block .”

  • Thereafter, Dharmanna began working as a theatre artist. He joined the drama troupe of Yashwanth Sardeshpande and was associated with the Guru Institute in Hubli, Karnataka.   • In 2013, Dharmanna appeared in the short film Jayanagara 4th Block, which gained popularity upon its YouTube release. The screenplay was a joint effort by Dhananjaya, Sathya Prakash, and Nataraj. The short film was the acting debut of Dhananjaya, Nataraj, Dharmanna, and Bimbashree Ninasam, and also marked Sathya Prakash’s first venture as a director. Following this, Dharmanna was also seen in the short film “I Love You.”

    I wasted half a day for a single shot on my first day in ‘Rama Rama Re’ making. I told Satya to not waste his time and asked him to replace me. He showed faith in me and once I aced my shot, there was no looking back.”
