- Gaurav started his career as a journalist for Aajtak before joining as a senior producer and a prime-time anchor for Star Zews in the year 2004.
- In 2005, he played a critical role in launching a Bengali news channel, Star Ananda.
- Gaurav started a content strategy for regional entertainment channels in 2008. He expanded the presence of regional channels like Star Jalsha and Star Pravah in states like West Bengal and Maharashtra. Star Jalsha quickly became India’s top Bengali language channel.
