Controversy	Threatened to kill Narendra Modi in a live speech In 2014, Imran came into the limelight when he threatened to chop Narendra Modi into pieces during a rally. He was caught on tape saying "I am a man of the street, ready to give my life for my people. I am neither afraid of death or of killing....He thinks this is Gujarat. There are only 4% Muslims in Gujarat. There are 42% Muslims here. If he tries to convert this into Gujarat, then we will chop him." Some Lesser Known Facts About Imran Masood

• Imran won the 2007 Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha elections from the Muzaffarabad Assembly Constituency Seat as an independent candidate by defeating Jagdish Singh Rana of the Samajwadi Party with a margin of 3,683 votes.

• In 2022, Imran switched from the Indian National Congress to the Samajwadi Party, and later, to the Bahujan Samaj.

• In August 2023, he was expelled from the BSP due to disciplinary issues and a lack of will to work for the party in his constituency.
