Some Lesser Known Facts About J Muthukrishnan

Muthukrishnan was a JNU student from Tamil Nadu who was pursuing M Phil in History.

He belonged to a very poor family background as his father was a watchman and his mother, a daily wage labourer.

On 13 March 2017, he allegedly committed suicide at a friend’s room in South Delhi, though the police didn’t find any suicide note in initial investigation.

On his last Facebook post of 10 March 2017, he revealed about the discrimination and struggle that he faced at JNU by saying, “There is no Equality in M.phil/Ph.D. Admission, there is no equality in Viva – voce, there is only denial of equality, denying Prof. Sukhadeo Thorat recommendation, denying Students protest places in Ad – block, denying the education of the Marginal’s.”

On his Facebook post of 15 February 2017, he mentioned about his love-life failures and said, “And I don’t want to become ILavarasan, Gokul Raj, Shankar ! most importantly all my crush said, You will get Better girl In the World! (sic).”
