- Jilumol was born without hands and now performs all the activities with her legs.
- She is part of the Mouth and Foot Painting Artist
- When Jilumol’s parents received her, the gynaecologist offered to adopt her but her father bravely and bluntly reacted to the proposal.
- At age four she lost her mother to cancer.
- It was her grandmother who encouraged her to use her legs in compensation for her legs.
- She was sent to Mercy Home, run by Sisters of the Destitute, where she received support from the sisters and learned to overcome her physical limitations.
- At the Mercy Home, she was thankful to Sister Mariella, who trained her to do what was considered humanely impossible.
- During her school years, she quickly learned the basics of computers and would also manage the class really well in the absence of teachers.
- Students found Jilumol more approachable than their teacher for computing help.
- After completing her graduation, she applied for jobs without hiding her disability. However, during the interviews, she noticed that she was being treated differently.
- She did get jobs and worked at Santhisoft Technologies and Viani Printings in Ernakulam, where she received support and encouragement from her colleagues.
- It was in 2014 when Jilumol first approached the RTO office requesting to allow her to take the driving test.
- She was rejected and asked to bring one armless person who was given such a licence in India. She found Vikram Agnihotri from Indore, who was the first armless man in India to get a driving licence.
- A lawyer named Shinie Varghese stepped forward to help her in a legal manner. The Central government was supportive, but the state government was opposing her plea. She did not get her driving licence that year.
- Finally, in 2023 she got her driving licence and became the first woman in Asia to get a driving license without hands.
