Some Lesser Known Facts About John Bennett Ramsey
- After completing his formal studies, he joined the US Navy in 1966 and served in the Philippines for 3 years as a Civil Engineer Corps officer. For the next 8 years, he worked in an Atlanta reserve unit.
- In 1989, he established the Advanced Product Group, which later merged to become Access Graphics, a computer services company.
- In 1991, Access Graphics became a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, and he became its president and CEO.
- In 1996, he was declared the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ by the Boulder Chamber of Commerce as his company achieved a turnover of $1 billion.
- On the Christmas night of 1996, his daughter, JonBenét Ramsey, was found murdered in the basement of her home. That year, it was the only murder in Boulder, Colorado.
- In a deposition, the detective first of the case, Linda Arndt said that she believed he was responsible for the murder.
- He returned to his job at Access Graphics within weeks after the murder of his daughter.
