Some Lesser Known Facts About John Bennett Ramsey

• After completing his formal studies, he joined the US Navy in 1966 and served in the Philippines for 3 years as a Civil Engineer Corps officer. For the next 8 years, he worked in an Atlanta reserve unit.

• In 1989, he established the Advanced Product Group, which later merged to become Access Graphics, a computer services company.

• In 1991, Access Graphics became a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, and he became its president and CEO.

• In 1996, he was declared the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ by the Boulder Chamber of Commerce as his company achieved a turnover of $1 billion.

• On the Christmas night of 1996, his daughter, JonBenét Ramsey, was found murdered in the basement of her home. That year, it was the only murder in Boulder, Colorado.

• In a deposition, the detective first of the case, Linda Arndt said that she believed he was responsible for the murder.

• He returned to his job at Access Graphics within weeks after the murder of his daughter.

• In 2004, he campaigned for a seat in the 105th district’s House of Representatives in Michigan but finished 2nd with 24.3% vote.

• Later, investigators conducted a test using a newer technique named Touch DNA. On 9 July 2008, the Boulder County District Attorney’s office announced that he and other family members were not suspects anymore, but then Boulder County DA, Stan Garnett, claimed that the letter was not legally binding.

• In November 2024, a Netflix docuseries titled ‘Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey?’ was released.
