| Controversy | The Viral Obscene Video: On 19 January 2026, a video went viral on social media allegedly showing K. Ramachandra Rao behaving inappropriately with women inside his office while in uniform. The video was made by stitching together three separate clips. As the video spread, he met Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara and later spoke to the media. He denied the allegations and called the video fake. Some Lesser Known Facts About K Ramachandra Rao
- In September 2023, K Ramachandra Rao began working as the head of the Karnataka State Police Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation.

On 3 March 2025, his stepdaughter and actress, Ranya Rao, was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Bengaluru Airport after arriving from Dubai. The officials found gold bars worth Rs. 12.56 crore with her.

The next day, the DRI found gold jewellery worth Rs. 2.06 crore and cash worth Rs. 2.67 crore at her home in Bengaluru.
