  • Initially, Khaleel’s father was against his decision of becoming a cricketer and wanted that he would become a doctor. His father had even beaten him for playing it.
  • At the age of 12, Khaleel joined the cricket academy in Tonk without informing his father.
  • Later, his coach Imtiyaz Khan sent him to the Rajasthan Cricket Academy in Jaipur, Rajasthan where he joined the Rajasthan Under-14 camp.
  • He then played for the ‘Rajasthan Under-14’ in Rajsingh Dungarpur Trophy in which he picked 26 wickets in just 4 matches.
  • After his great performance, he was chosen for the camp in Mohali, Punjab at the BCCI Specialist Academy.
  • In 2015, during the Under-19 tri-series in Sri Lanka in which he bowled for India, he picked 13 wickets in 5 matches which made his place in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup squad.
  • In 2016, ‘Delhi Daredevils’ bought him Rs. 10 lakh for the ‘2016 Indian Premier League’ (IPL) auction.
