Some Lesser Known Facts About Mad Sandhu

• Mad Sandhu was born and raised in Amritsar, Punjab.

• He was the eldest of three siblings. His father, Bhupinder Singh worked with the Punjab Police and retired as a sub-inspector, while his mother is a homemaker.

• In an interview, Sandhu revealed that since childhood, he felt different from other boys. He enjoyed dressing like girls, doing makeup, watching television and reading fashion magazines, while many boys around him played cricket and cycled.

• As a child, he received strong support from his mother. In an interview, he recalled that she sometimes dressed him as a girl for school functions and did his makeup. He added that that at school functions he performed dances and received both criticism and praise from people around him.

• During his school he face questions and teasing because of his appearance and behaviour. He later said that people outside his home often called him names, while his family gave him a more supportive environment.

• After finishing school in Amritsar, his family sent him to Delhi for higher studies. In an interview, Mad Sandhu revealed that he received greater acceptance for his appearance and behaviour. He stayed in Delhi for about two years and then returned to Punjab.

• After returning to Punjab, he again faced questions from neighbours about his appearance and personality. He once said some people even told their children not to be friends with him.

• During his early childhood, Sandhu decided to speak openly with his family about his identity and his interests. His family eventually supported him and asked him what he wanted to do in life. He told them that he wanted to work in makeup and fashion and they encouraged him to pursue the career he wanted to do.

• Mad Sandhu then did his training as a makeup artist at a private institute in Amritsar and in Delhi and began building a career in the beauty and fashion industry.

• He started his professional career as a stylist and assistant costume designer, working on projects connected with the Punjabi and Hindi entertainment industries. Later, he also worked as a designer and fashion stylist and took part in runways shows.

• Sandhu gradually moved into professional makeup artistry and became known for his makeup skills and unique fashion style.

• In 2021, he appeared in a Josh Talks video and spoke openly about his childhood, social pressure, identity and online trolling. In the video he also said that he learned to ignore negative comments and focus on the positive response from his audience.

• In 2024, Mad Sandhu entered acting and appeared in the Punjabi film Oye Bhole Oye.

• During the following years, he became a popular face on Punjabi social media. He posted makeup tutorials, fashion looks, vlogs, lifestyle videos and social commentary. He also appeared on various podcasts where he discussed makeup, the film industry, gender and his personal experiences.

• Mad Sandhu openly identified as gay and became one of the more visible LGBTQ+ personalities in the Punjabi social-media circle. Instead of regularly facing homophobic comments, he continued to speak publicly about accepting oneself.

• In 2026, Mad Sandhu came into a controversy in which a Nihang Sikh objected to some of Mad Sandhu’s videos, clothes, and behaviour. He accused Sandhu of having a bad influence on young people. To this Sandhu responded that God had made him the way he was.

• In an interview, Sandhu revealed that he had changed the style of some of his content and did not want old videos to be repeatedly circulated to create new disputes. His father also said that Sandhu had faced threats and had approached police for protection.

• Reportedly before his death Sandhu was preparing for a new opportunity connected with Bigg Boss Season 2026. His father said he was expected to enter the reality show as a wildcard contestant.

• On 3 October 2026, Mad Sandhu died after two unidentified motorcycle-borne attackers shot Sandhu on Loharka Road in Amritsar while he was waiting outside a car wash centre.

• He suffered multiple bullet injuries. He was taken to a private hospital, unfortunately he died from his injuries.

• After his death, police registered an FIR based on his family’s statement and began examining CCTV footage and other evidence.

• Later some social media posts later claimed gangster involvement, however, on 4 October 2026, Punjab Police said that posts claiming gangsters had murdered Sandhu were unauthenticated and the investigators were considered multiple possible angles.

• At the time of his death, Mad Sandhu had established himself across several fields including as a makeup artist, fashion stylist, entrepreneur, actor and social media creator rather than working only as an influencer.
