While studying in the 7th standard, he got inclined towards acting, and thereafter, he joined theatre.

During his childhood, Malkeet used to watch a lot of theatre plays and attended many workshops at the Punjabi University, Patiala to enhance his acting skills.

He got married at a very young age due to which he had to left his studies midway.
