Some Lesser Known Facts About Manav Kaul
- Manav used to live in Kashmir with his family, but during the riots in the 90s, they shifted to his maternal grandparents’ house in Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh.
- In childhood, he was a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan. He used to practice Amitabh’s style.
- While he was in school, he participated in various dance competitions.
- In his village, he was famous as a break dancer, and at most of the events in his village, he used to perform on stage.
- In Madhya Pradesh, due to his family’s poor financial conditions, he was finding it difficult to continue his studies and his parents expected him to open a tea stall or a paan shop.
- In his teens, Manav, along with his childhood friends, used to dive in the Narmada River in search of money thrown by the devotees. There, a swimming coach spotted him and praised his swimming skills.
- The coach then decided to train him in swimming. Later, Manav got selected for the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Bhopal and trained there for around two years. He then played in various state and national badminton tournaments and won more than 14 medals in swimming.
- While growing up, he developed an interest in acting. Later, he shifted to Mumbai to pursue his career as an actor.
