Some Lesser Known Facts About Meenal Sahu

• Meenal Sahu is an Indian dancer, model, and actress, who predominantly works in the Hindi and Tamil film industries. She is popular for playing the role of Mumtaz in the Hindi-language gangster-thriller web series Mai Hero Boll Raha Hu (2021). The series streamed on ZEE5 and ALTBalaji.

• She grew up in a middle-class family in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

• Growing up, Meenal was passionate about dance. After noticing her love for dance, Meenal’s mother enrolled her in Bharatnatyam classes when she was studying in class 6.

• Later, she received training in various dance forms.

• Meenal desired to become a model since childhood.

• While studying in class 11, Meenal began giving tuition to her juniors in Raipur.

• After passing class 12, Meenal got admission to K. C. College, Mumbai. However, her father did not wish to send her to Mumbai alone at such a young age. During that time, her father was transferred to Delhi, where her family relocated. Meenal then decided to pursue her graduation in Delhi.

• While in college, Meenal joined Mehar Malik’s belly dancing classes. She also associated herself with a theatre group and took part in a few plays. However, it didn’t work out.

• Subsequently, she relocated to Mumbai and enrolled herself at Shiamak Davar’s Institute For The Performing Arts to pursue a graduate program in dance. As a part of Shiamak’s dance group, Meenal gave performances at various events and shows. She also performed as a background dancer with many popular celebrities like Salman Khan at big events and award shows like IIFA 2016 and Zee Cine Awards 2018.

• In Mumbai, she gave several auditions for TV commercials and got rejected in all.

• She then attended a few acting workshops to learn the basics of acting.

• In 2017, she represented Maharashtra in the beauty pageant FBB Colors Femina Miss India. Later, she participated in a few other beauty pageants.

• Subsequently, she began doing print shoots and bridal campaigns for clothing brands like Vaama. She has also modelled for Okhai Org and Crazyholic.

• Meenal did a calendar shoot for Hiranandani in 2019.

• Meenal has been featured in the TV advertisements of many popular brands like Kalyan Jewellers, HDFC, VingaJoy, EasyDay, Bajaj Allianz, and Freedom Healthy Oil.

• In 2019, she was featured in a song from the Hindi film Super30.

• The following year, Meenal Sahu appeared in the Tamil film Irandam Kuththu, starring Santhosh P. Jayakumar and Daniel Annie Pope.

• She then appeared in Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Hindi-language action drama Sooryavanshi (2021).

• In 2020, Meenal appeared in the web series Bebaakee. Streamed on ZEE5 and ALTBalaji, the series encapsulates unbreakable bonds of love, friendship, brotherhood, and hate.

• In 2022, she appeared in the TV serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Vaishali.

• Meenal played the role of Tisca Singh Dholakia in Amazon Prime’s comedy family-based web series Happy Family, Conditions Apply in 2023. The story revolves around four generations of Dholakias, who are dysfunctional and have a blend of traditional and modern values.

• Meenal has also played a small role in &TV’s series Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gatha (2018). The series was also streamed on ZEE5.

• In her spare time, Meenal likes to travel and do adventure sports.

• She is well-versed in three languages, Hindi, English, and Marathi.

• An avid animal lover, Meenal has a pet cat named Coco. She also owned a pet cat named Mojo who passed away in 2019.
