• Waseem discovered his talent for cricket playing in the streets of Mian Channu in 2010 at the age of 16.

• He practised tape-ball cricket before joining Sakhi Shabaz Club in 2012.

• That same year, he was selected for the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy in Burewala.

• While he was playing in Lahore in 2017, Mudassir Ali offered him a UAE residency visa to become a full-time member of Versatile Deployment Solutions’ cricket team.

• He continued to play club cricket while working as a sales executive.

• Muhammad Waseem became eligible to play for the UAE in April 2021 by meeting the ICC’s three-year residency rule.

• On 10 October 2021, during the 2021 Summer T20 Bash, Waseem scored his first century in T20I cricket, an unbeaten 107 from 62 balls, in a match against Ireland.

• He played for the Northern Warriors in the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 tournament.

• On 3 February 2021, he gave a remarkable performance in a game against Pune Devils. He scored an unbeaten 56 from just 13 balls, which led Northern Warriors to an eight-wicket victory. In those 13 balls, he hit seven sixes and three fours. With this, Waseem tied Chris Gayle’s record for the Fastest T10 Fifty in a T10 cricket match in just 12 balls.

• On 6 February 2021, Northern Warriors won the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 by beating Delhi Bulls in the final.

• As a Captain, he led InterGlobe Marine (IGM) to win the 2021 46th Bukhatir Premier League.

• Waseem played for Fujairah in the 2020/21 Dream 11 Emirates D20. Waseem finished the tournament with the most runs (534), the highest average (53.40), and the most 50-plus scores. The highlights of this feat include four half-centuries and an unbeaten 101 off 60 balls. Despite his outstanding performance, Fujairah lost to Sharjah by two wickets in the final.

• Fujairah won the 2022 Emirates D20 under Waseem’s captainship.

• He joined Chennai Braves’ squad for the 2021–22 Abu Dhabi T10.

• In November 2021, he was selected to represent the UAE in the 2021 Namibia Tri-Nation Series One Day International (ODI) tournament.

• He played for the New York Strikers in the 2022 and 2023 Abu Dhabi T10 tournaments. The New York Strikers lost to the Deccan Gladiators by 37 runs in the 2022 final. However, they came back strong in 2023 and beat the Deccan Gladiators by 7 wickets to win the championship.

• In February 2022, he was named to UAE’s ODI squad for their series against Oman.

• Muhammad Waseem represented MI Emirates in the 2023 and 2024 International League T20 tournaments.  He was recognized as the Best UAE Player in both seasons.

• His standout performance in ILT20 came on 28 January 2024 when he scored 89 runs off 62 balls against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, earning him the Player of the Match award.

• In March 2023, Waseem was appointed captain of the UAE, replacing CP Rizwan for the final match of the 2023 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series.

• In August 2023, Muhammad Waseem assumed the role of T20I captain for the first time in a three-match series against New Zealand.
