ControversyNamitha Marimathu trolled for her Ardhanarishwar avatar
In 2022, a video of Namitha Marimathu went viral on the internet in which she was seen walking the ramp in the Ardhanarishwar avatar for the Miss International Queen 2022 pageant.(Ardhanarishwar is a combination of the three syllables "Ardha," "Nari," and "Ishwara," which, when used together, refer to the lord whose half is a woman. It is believed that the God is Lord Shiva and the woman part is his consort Goddess Parvati or Shakti). After the video went viral, many social media users took her costume offensive and urged her to delete the video. The social media users said that it was not necessary to incorporate religion and deities into every aspect of life and that international ramps are not designed to flaunt godly avatars.[6]mensxp
