• Nand Kishore Yadav lived in the Khajekalan area of Patna during his childhood. In 1969, he became a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

• In 1974, while studying in the second year of his graduation, he joined the JP Movement, started by Jayaprakash Narayan after which he was jailed for around 12 months till 1975. ^[7]MyNeta

• He went on to serve as Minister in different terms of Bihar government. He has been elected as MLA in 6 consecutive Bihar Legislative Assembly elections.
