- Arvind Dharmapuri was born and raised in Korutla, present-day Telangana into a prominent political family.
- His grandfather, Dharmapuri Venkatram was a Jan Sangh leader, while his father D. Srinivas was a senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member.
- Since his childhood, Arvind was deeply interested in sports. He represented his school in cricket during the 9th and 10th standards.
- After completing class 10, he underwent professional cricket training.
- In 1990s, Arvind represented Hyderabad Under-10, Under-21, Under-23, and Under-25 cricket tournaments. He also played in the prestigious Moin-ud-Dowlah Gold Cup Tournament.
- He also represented South India Under-19 as an opening batsman.
- Arvind made his Ranji Trophy debut for Hyderabad as a right-handed batsman. In an interview, Arvind revealed that he scored half-century in his debut Ranji match.

- In 2019, in his first Lok Sabha election from the Nizamabad constituency, he defeated K. Kavitha, daughter of then Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao. The election drew national attention because of the record 184 candidates in the constituency.
- In 2020, Arvind Dharmapuri helped secured the establishment of a Regional Centre of the Spices Board, an important development for spice and turmeric farmers in Telangana.
- In 2022, he was included in the core committee of the BJP Videsh Vibhag, the party’s foreign affairs department.

He raised the allegation directly with Telangana DGP C.V. Anand. On his X account, where he wrote,
I have known you for decades and have always regarded you as a competent officer. Recently, I have been informed that an ACP-rank officer of the Telangana Police has been tasked with monitoring me and my movements at the behest of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s brother. This raises a serious and fundamental question, does the Telangana Police function under the Constitution and the lawful chain of command, or on instructions from members of the Chief Minister’s family? As far as I am aware, Telangana Police is accountable to the law and not to any political family.”
