Some Lesser Known Facts About Nitin Tomar

Tomar hails from a family of sportspersons. Two of his uncles, who were wrestlers prepared him for the game, but a lack of infrastructure for wrestling in his school made him play Kabbadi.

In Kabbadi World Cup 2016, Tomar, though not so active throughout the tournament, changed the final game in its second half scoring two raid points when India were trailing 11-12. The lead that Tomar provided helped team India beat Iran by 38-29 in the end.

With mere 20 Lakh as his base price, GMR Group owned Uttar Pradesh team of Pro Kabbadi League bought Tomar for a whopping 93 Lakh thus making him the most expensive player for the fifth edition of the tournament.
