Suspended After Failed Dope Test
On 30 December 2019, Prachi Choudhary was drug-tested by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) after a competition in Patiala. The test showed the presence of an anabolic steroid called Oxandrolone metabolite in her body, leading to her provisional suspension by NADA. She faced a four-year ban due to the presence of this banned substance; [4]The Times of India however, in December 2021, the Anti-Doping Appeals Panel (ADAP) decided that her committing Anti-doping Rule Violation (ADRV) was unintentional because they couldn't trace the source of the prohibited drug in her body. As a result, her ban was reduced to two years, allowing her to return to competitions in December 2021. This enabled her to participate in qualifying events for the Commonwealth and Asian Games, as well as other national and international competitions. [5]The Times of India
