After that, during a media interview, Rakesh Kishore said that he was angry about the Chief Justice’s comments on restoring a beheaded Lord Vishnu idol at the Javari temple in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh.

He added that he did not feel guilty after throwing a shoe at the Chief Justice and claimed that he was acting under the guidance of god. He said,

On the basis of prima facie material, it appears that at about 11.35 am on 6 October 2025, in Court No. 1 of the Supreme Court of India, you i.e. Advocate Rakesh Kishore, enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi vide enrolment nos…, removed your sports shoes and attempted to hurl them towards the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India during ongoing proceedings, whereupon you were detained by security.”

Rakesh Kishore received a show-cause notice asking him to explain why this action should not continue. The BCI also started disciplinary action against him.

After his arrest, the Delhi Police stated that Kishore had no criminal record. He was released after being questioned for three hours.

The Delhi Police let him go because the Supreme Court’s registrar general did not want to press charges.

During his time in office, Rakesh Kishore had filed at least two petitions.
- When he was the president of Riverview Apartments in Mayur Vihar Phase 1, Delhi, Kishore filed a petition before the Delhi Cooperative Tribunal against the society’s former president and former secretary about an old Tribunal order regarding the use of garbage tubes in August 2021.
