• Rayyan Arkan Dikha was born in a middle-class family in Kuantan Singingi Regency, located in Indonesia’s Riau province.

• He studied in Class 5 and recently participated in the national Pacu Jalur boat race for the very first time. This traditional race involved long wooden boats rowed by adults, while a child stood at the front dancing to motivate the rowing team.

• He performed as the Togak Luan, the official dancer placed at the tip of the moving racing boat. He wore a black Teluk Belanga outfit, a Malay Riau headcloth, and sunglasses during the performance.

• His dance included smooth hand movements, blowing kisses, and striking balanced poses, all while maintaining a straight face. He later revealed that the dance was not rehearsed and he created it spontaneously on the boat.

• The video of his dance was uploaded in late June and went viral quickly on TikTok and other social media platforms. Videos using hashtags like #aura farming kid on boat and #boat race kid aura also started trending.

• People across the world started copying his moves and gave him the nickname “The Reaper”, claiming he never lost races.

• On 1 July, French football club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) posted a TikTok video recreating Rayyan’s dance. On 2 July, American football player Travis Kelce uploaded his version, which crossed 14 million views within a few days.

• Rayyan’s mother, Rani Ridawati, said she was concerned about his safety in case he fell near the boat’s paddles. She explained that he was a good swimmer and that a rescue team was always present to assist during accidents.

• Indonesia’s Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, praised Rayyan’s skill and balance during an official event held in his honour. He said children were better than adults at maintaining balance while dancing on the tip of a fast-moving boat.
