Some Lesser Known Facts About Rishi S Kumar

• During his childhood, Rishi’s parents sent him to dance classes which he quit as did not enjoy dancing; however, after completing his schooling, he found his passion for dancing and decided to be a professional dancer.

• He learnt dancing by watching videos of Michael Jackson on YouTube and practising them at home.

• After making his debut in the Dance reality show D4 season 2 (2014), Rishi S Kumar was discovered by Anandu who was the son of the director of the sitcom Uppum Mulakum to play the role of Vishnu, the eldest son of the family in the show.

• Rishi S Kumar’s hairstyle became his trademark style.

• During an interview, he talked about how he got his first acting role and his hairstyle became his trademark style. He said,
  

  Uppum Mulakum’s director R Unnikrishnan sir’s call came as a surprise to me, asking if I am interested to act in the sitcom. It was his son Anandu who suggested me to him after watching my dance performances. And thus I decided to try a hand at acting. The first thing that Unni sir asked me to do was cut my hair which I flatly refused. He had mockingly told me that my curly hair would make my character a hit which has turned a reality now.”

• In 2020, Rishi S Kumar appeared in the Malayalam sitcom Aliyans. He played the role of Jithu/Jithendran in the show.

• In January 2022, Rishi S Kumar appeared in an Onam special sitcom Erivum Puliyum on Zee5 along with the entire cast of the Malayalam sitcom Uppum Mulakum. In the sitcom, he played the role of Jojo.

• In July 2023, Rishi S Kumar accused the director of the Malayalam sitcom Uppum Mulakum of harassment, he revealed that the whole cast of the show had left the show temporarily as the director was harassing them to go forward with a storyline that none of them cast members agree with. He said,
  

  For about four months, I have not been a part of the show. As per the storyline, Mudiyan is in Bangalore. Mudiyan’s wife and in-laws are there in the show, but I am not there. I kept quiet for the last couple of months, but now I have decided to react because they are going to telecast an unacceptable plot in the show. Sources have conveyed to me that as per the new storyline, Mudiyan will be shown getting arrested in a drug case. It is all because of director Unni, he has been torturing us.”

• He also claimed that the cast did not agree with the director as he was trying to turn the sitcom into a mega serial. He said,
  

  Everyone knows the issues that happened in Uppum Mulakum. Before we started the new season, the team promised us that the director will not make any issues with us. But, he continues to harass us. We all signed up for a sitcom, but he is making it a serial. I questioned this and I am out. Uppum Mulakum is my family and I am raising my voice for them.”

• In February 2024, Rishi S Kumar appeared in season 6 of Bigg Boss, the Malayalam-language adaptation of the Indian reality television series.
