Some Lesser Known Facts About Sana Iqbal

  • Sana was born into a conservative Muslim family, who started suffering from depression in her 20s.
  • When she reached the threshold of her depression in 2015, she biked to Gujarat to commit suicide. During the course of her journey, she realized that death is not the solution to realize peace.
  • This incident inspired her, after which she started spreading awareness that “Suicide is not the solution.” She did a solo motorcycle expedition across India to raise awareness against suicide. Sana Iqbal - Suicide and Depression awareness
  • Apart from biking, she worked as an ODPM Manager for Hinduja Global Solutions, Hyderabad.
  • On 24 October 2017, at around 3:30 am, she and her husband met with a fatal road accident when their car rammed the median on the Outer Ring Road, Hyderabad, when they were heading to their home in Tolichowki. Both Sana and her husband suffered severe injuries in the accident, after which they were rushed to the nearby hospital, but Sana was declared brought dead.
  • As her husband was behind the wheels, a case under IPC section 304A was registered against him for causing death by negligence.
