  • Sandeep Narwal grew up in Sonepat, Haryana, and started playing Kabaddi when he was studying in class fifth at the age of 8.
  • He became popular at the junior level Kabaddi in his town and bagged numerous medals for the same.
  • Sandeep Narwal was then selected for the Haryana team after playing Kabaddi at the school level and began participating in the U-14, U-17, and U-19 championships regularly.
  • He became an all-rounder after being selected by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), and later, he moved to Gandhinagar where he met his coach Jayaveer Sharma who trained him for national-level championships.
  • In 2011, Sandeep Narwal was selected to represent India at the Junior Asiads. In 2013, he played the Senior Nationals for Haryana.
  • He played for the Patna Pirates in the first three seasons of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL).
  • Initially, in the Pro Kabaddi League, Sandeep Narwal was an unknown name but soon he impressed the selectors. This helped him to become a prospect for the national camp.
  • He captained Patna Pirates and guided them to the semi-finals in Season 2.

  • In season 3 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), Sandeep Narwal was awarded the Best Defender of the Tournament award with 53 successful tackles. In Season 4 of PKL, he represented Telugu Titans.

  • In 2016, Sandeep Narwal represented the National Team of India in the South Asian Games. In the same year, he represented India in the Kabaddi World Cup, which was organised in Ahmedabad. The Indian Kabaddi team won the finals.
  • He represented Puneri Paltan in the 6 season of PKL, and in season 7, he played for U Mumba which bought him for Rs. 89 lakhs.
  • In U Mumba, Sandeep Narwal partnered with Iran’s Fazel Atrachali and was selected as the vice-captain of the team.

  • In 2018, he earned a bronze medal in the Asian Games and lost to Iran in the semifinals. In the same year, he represented India in the Dubai Masters.
