Some Lesser Known Facts About Savitha Shri B

Savitha Shri B started playing chess because of her elder brother who used to play chess part-time. She became interested in playing chess while watching him.

When she was 5 years old, she played her first chess tournament and performed well.

Soon, her father noticed her interest in chess and allowed her to play in many other chess tournaments.

After that, when she started winning chess tournaments, her father left his job to accompany her to different chess championships organized in India or abroad.

In 2017, Savitha Shri B participated in the national Under-9(G) chess championships.

After that, she participated in many chess championships including Under-11(G), Under-12(G), Open World Championship, Women’s Team World Rapid Chess Championships in Asian games, and FIDE World Rapid Chess Championships.

She earned her first Woman International Master (WIM) norm in 2019 at the Grenke Open in Germany.

Savitha Shri B became the highest-rated female chess player born in 2007 or later, according to the FIDE ratings issued in April 2021.
