• According to Shashank, he belongs to a middle-class family who wanted him to be a highly educated person. Therefore, he shifted to Australia from India to pursue an engineering degree soon after his school education.

• Shashank Ketkar completed his formal education in Sydney, Australia. During his stay in Australia, he was a part of a swimming school of Ian Thorpe, an Olympic gold medalist and worked as a duty manager for some time. He is a qualified swimmer who trained several renowned personalities in Australia in Swimming. In a media conversation, in 2015, he stated that he worked in a senior position at Thorpe’s training school. He said,

Soon after completing his studies, he returned to India from Australia and started indulging himself in the performing arts and used to like it as a hobby. Later, he became a part of a theatre group in Pune named Sudarshan Rangamanch and participated in the play Purnaviram. It was his debut play, which was directed by Pramod Kale and written by Sachin Kundalkar.
