• In 1990, her mother, after leaving Siddhartha Das, left Sheena and her brother, Mikhail, under the care of their maternal grandparents in Guwahati and shifted to Kolkata.

• Sheena relocated to Mumbai in 2006, where Indrani introduced her as her younger sister.

• In 2008, she met Rahul Mukerjea, son of Peter Mukerjea from his previous wife, and began dating him.

• After knowing about Sheena’s relationship with Rahul, Indrani Mukerjea sent her to Delhi in 2009, where she experienced health problems and received visits from her mother and ex-boyfriend.

• Sheena went missing on 24 April 2012. She had reportedly sent a leave application and written resignation to the company. Rahul Mukerjea, her stepbrother, whom she was dating, received a breakup SMS from Sheena’s phone the same day.

• According to her mother, Indrani, Sheena had moved to the United States for higher studies and did not inform Rahul, as he was trying to stalk her.

• On 24 April 2012, she was murdered and buried in the Raigad forests of Mumbai, with strangulation determined as the cause of death.

• On 23 May 2012, local Police of Pen tehsil found a burnt-out body near a farmhouse in Lonavala after villagers complained of a foul odor.

• Rai revealed that Indrani discussed the plot of Sheena’s murder with her (Indrani) ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and had surveyed the likely area to dump the dead body an evening before the murder. He added that Indrani had rented an Opel Corsa for the purpose and called Sheena to meet that day.

• Rai said that on murder day, Sheena was seated in the rear seat with her stepfather Sanjeev Khanna while Indrani was seated next to the driver seat. He said that he took the car into one of the by-lanes in Bandra where Khanna strangled her to death.

• The driver added that on 25 April 2012, Sheena’s body was taken to the decided dumping area in the early hours of the day. Her body was propped up between Indrani and Khanna on the rear seat so that it looked like she was asleep.

• Police alleged during a press conference that Sheena’s body was dragged out of the car, packed up in a bag, and set ablaze after pouring some flammable fuel over it.

• On 25 August 2015, Mumbai Police arrested Indrani Mukerjea for allegedly murdering Sheena. Indrani was charged with murder, evidence tampering, kidnapping, and conspiracy, and remanded in police custody.

• On 26 August 2015, her stepfather, Sanjeev Khanna, was arrested in Kolkata on similar charges. On the same day, Mikhail, Sheena Bora’s brother, disclosed that Sheena was Indrani’s daughter, not her sister.

• On 19 November 2015, Peter Mukerjea was arrested for his alleged involvement in Sheena Bora’s murder and accused of diverting his company’s funds into her bank account in Singapore.

• Sheena Bora was reportedly murdered in a rented car.

• Her skeletal remains were found in Raigad in August 2015.

• Following the discovery of human remains in Raigad, the police acknowledged their careless approach to finding a burnt body a month after Sheena’s presumed murder in 2012, as no murder or accidental death case was filed then.

• Indrani Mukerjea allegedly bribed a psychiatrist to forge a certificate claiming her son Mikhail was mentally unstable, possibly to divert his search for Sheena.

• Sanjeev Khanna later confessed to his involvement in the murder.
