Some Lesser Known Facts About Sneha Desai

• Sneha Desai is a writer and lyricist who is known for her work in Gujarati and Hindi cinema.

• As a child, she loved writing essays. During a media conversation, she once mentioned that she won nearly every essay writing competition in her school days. She said,
  

  I remember I used to write great essays in school. At the time, the biggest high was winning an essay competition and seeing my name put up on the school notice board. But professionally, writing was never on the cards. I did not write a page till about 2010, which was way after college.”

• During her college days, Sneha Desai started participating in inter-college theatre plays and then joined Gujarati commercial theatre.

• In 2000, she made her theatre debut with the play Lajja Tane Mara Sam, which was produced by her college professor, Amee Trivedi. The play had 365 shows and was successful.

• After having a baby, she stopped acting and began focusing on writing stories. She shared one-line story ideas with her writer friends and asked them to develop those ideas.

• Some of her friends liked the ideas, some did not, but this led her to start writing herself. Writing was not her planned skill, but over time, it became her main work.

• Sneha Desai once shared her journey as a writer in a media conversation. She said that television writer Atish Kapadia was her mentor, and that she started as an additional writer and helped senior writers with their work.

• Her colleagues taught her how things worked in writing for TV. This support helped her learn and grow in her writing career.

• Her career then moved from Gujarati theatre to Gujarati TV, and then to Hindi TV.
