- Subhasis Talapatrais an Indian advocate, who has served in the High Courts of Gauhati, Tripura, and Orissa as a judge. In July 2023, he came into the limelight after the Supreme Court collegium put forward his name for the position of Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.
- Subhasis Talapatra joined the Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim on 12 September 1990. While he had the right to practice law in all northeastern states, his focus was primarily on handling civil, constitutional, and criminal cases, particularly at the Agartala Bench of the Gauhati High Court.
- He was designated as a senior advocate at the Gauhati High Court on 21 December 2004.
- Since 2017, he has been the executive chairman of the Tripura State Legal Services Authority.
