- She initially worked in many theatrical productions.
- When Usha started her career as an actor, her name was changed from ‘Haseena’ to ‘Usha’ at the suggestion of actor and director Balachandra Menon. He believed that the name ‘Haseena’ might create problems while filming in temples.
- Usha faced criticism from her relatives and community members for changing her name. However, she continued to use the name ‘Usha’ throughout her career.
- Usha has appeared in many Malayalam films including ‘Kandathum Kettathum’ (1988), ‘Kireedam’ (1989), ‘Pavam Pavam Rajakumaran’ (1990), ‘Chenkol’ (1993), ‘God’s Own Country’ (2014), ‘Lolans’ (2018), and ‘Cheena Trophy’ (2023).
