Some Lesser Known Facts About Ashni Biyani
Does Ashni Biyani smoke?: Not Known
Does Ashni Biyani drink alcohol?: Not Known
She was born as the eldest daughter of Future Group founder Kishore Biyani in Mumbai.
She grew up in a Marwari joint family.
Ashni grew up seeing her father establish the Future Group across India.
Even as a class 9 student, Ashni would sit in her father’s business meetings without saying anything.
When Pantaloon opened in the mid-1990s, she remembers being intrigued by people coming in cars or autos to the store.
After graduating from Bengaluru’s Srishti Institute of Art, Design & Technology, Ashni went to New York to pursue a course on Scenario Planning at Parsons School of Design followed by a course in general management at Stanford Graduate School of Business in California.
Back to India, her early assignment was her involvement in Holii, a fashion accessory brand, where she worked on designing the product.
With 17 million square feet of retail space across 90 cities, Pantaloon is the single largest retailer in India. Ashni, for her part, has directly been involved in setting up 18 such Big Bazaars.
In 2011, when the Future Group turned into a separate entity- Future Ideas, Ashni became its director.
Ashni works with an 11-member team comprising sociologists, mythologists, and anthropologists to demystify customer behaviour.
