Hrithik took Rana's wicket after fielder Ramandeep Singh caught the ball. When the ball was caught, Hrithik turned to Rana and said a few words after which Rana turned back to respond. As soon as the fight started, Mumbai Indians' skipper Suryakumar Yadav and the senior player in the game, Piyush Chawla, stepped in to stop the argument. After the controversy, the MI and KKR players were punished for breaching IPL's Code of Conduct in match No.22 of the cash-rich league. Suryakumar Yadav was fined for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct as well. Suryakumar was fined by the IPL for maintaining a slow over rate in Mumbai's home game against the players.
