- Jaiman Chamkila used to live with his maternal grandparents in Faridkot, Punjab the majority of the time as his parents were mostly away for shows.
- Jaiman Chamkila’s maternal grandparents Gucharan Singh, who was a drama inspector, and Rajwans Kaur raised him after the death of his parents.
- In 1996, Jaiman’s maternal grandmother brought him to Ludhiana from Faridkot after the death of his maternal grandfather.
- As he was raised by his maternal grandparents, Jaiman always considered them his own parents even after the death of Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur.
- Jaiman was just 4 years old when his parents were shot dead in 1988.
- Jaiman had to leave his studies midway because his maternal grandparents passed away and he was alone to run the house. In order to make ends meet, he had to start working at an early age.
