Some Lesser Known Facts About Lauren Perez

Lauren Perez was very young when she moved from Paris, France, to Los Angeles, USA, where she grew up.

While growing up, Lauren worked as a designer in her family’s textile business, Rampage Clothing Company, founded by her uncle and father. She, however, later realised she did not want to pursue a career in design.

Lauren has been into self-care, especially hair, since childhood. Growing up in a Moroccan family, she learned to care for her hair with oils made by her mother.

Lauren was 14 when she started experimenting with different oils and making mixtures using oils her father brought from Morocco. She used to spend Saturdays making scrubs and lotions in the kitchen with her mom.

At first, she made a hair oil that worked well for her. She then let her friends and family use it and soon noticed how effective it was for all of them despite having different hair types and textures.

Lauren met David Waltzer, an executive and partner at Electric Feel Entertainment, NYC, in 2014 through her best friend Maria. They stayed in touch, and in 2018, Lauren’s brother Joseph encouraged David to ask her out. In December 2019, after a friend’s wedding in New York, David proposed to Lauren at the hotel they were staying at.

In 2021, Lauren founded Anablue, a brand specialising in hair care products crafted from Moroccan elements, featuring a scalp scrub, an oil, and a serum. Anablue has received many accolades including the Best Scalp Product award at the Byrdie Awards 2023.

Later, she established her consultancy firm, Here Four You, where she worked as a creative director and oversaw marketing and brand strategy. In an interview, while talking about how she named the firm ‘Here Four You,’ Lauren said,

When people ask, ‘What do you do?’ I always make a joke and say, ‘Whatever you need me to do. That’s why it’s called Here Four You.’

Alo Yoga, an athletic apparel retailer, was among the initial clients of ‘Here Four You.’ Lauren collaborated with Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge, the founders of Alo Yoga, to launch the first store of ‘Here Four You.’
