Controversies | • Heated conversation with a police officer A video went viral in 2023 in which he was seen having a heated argument with the SHO (Station House Officer) over filing a report. • Police restrictions for 6 months In October 2023, Court Executive Magistrate and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police sent summons to Swami Balmukundacharya, restricting him for 6 months and accusing him of treason. In response to the summons, Swami Balmukundacharya claimed that he had raised his voice for the ill conditions of the temples of the fort. • Ordered non-veg eateries in the street to be shut down In 2023, soon after winning the Legislative Assembly election, he was seen ordering an officer over a phone call to shut down the non vegetarian eateries in the street. Later, in an interview, he claimed that he had recieved complaints about the shops, and said, "There are a lot of shops close to the temple. People had complained to me, and I was talking about regularisation." • FIR registered for illegally occupying land On 23 August 2023, a case was registered against him and his father on the orders of the court for beating up a dalit farmer, Surajmal Raigar, and occupying his land. Surajmal Raigar claimed that he had complained on 30 July 2023 but no action was taken by the police. He further claimed that Swami Balmukundacharya threatened him daily after the case. • Remarks on school children wearing hijab On 26 January 2024, he went to Government Senior Secondary Girls School, Gangapol, Rajasthan and remarked that the environment is being spoiled due to hijab.
