Controversies	Threatening a Woman: In July 2016, a woman accused Amanatullah of threatening her with rape and murder after she complained about electricity issues. She filed the complaint on 20 July at the Jamia Nagar Police Station in New Delhi and claimed that she was threatened on 10 July. Khan, however, claimed that he was in Meerut on the date she mentioned. On 24 July, Khan was arrested. He was granted bail on 28 July. [1]The Indian Express Clash with a Congress Worker: On 28 January 2018, the Delhi Police registered two FIRs related to an incident involving Amanatullah. One FIR was filed by Faizan Sarkar, a Congress worker who claimed that Khan and his supporters beat him up at around 3 pm while he was walking home after being hit by a car. Yaser, who filed the second FIR, claimed that Khan did beat Sarkar, but Sarkar also hit Khan back during the incident. In 2021, a Delhi court dismissed the case against them due to lack of evidence. [3]The Economic Times A History-Sheeter: On 30 March 2022, Delhi Police labelled Khan a 'bad character' and a 'history-sheeter' as the authorities had recorded 18 FIRs against him. The order noted his involvement in land grabbing and violent offences and recommended increased monitoring of his activities. On 13 May 2022, he was arrested for protesting an anti-encroachment drive in Delhi. [4]The Quint Waqf Board Corruption Case: On 16 September 2022, Khan was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with alleged irregularities during his tenure as chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board. He was accused of illegal recruitments, misappropriation of funds, and renting out Waqf Board properties illegally. On 26 September, Khan was sent to judicial custody. Some Lesser Known Facts About Amanatullah Khan

• Amanatullah Khan contested the 2008 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections on a ticket from the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) from Okhla. However, he lost the elections with 699 votes.

• In 2013, he lost the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections from the Okhla constituency with 3,747 votes.

• Khan contested the 2015 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections from Okhla on a ticket from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He won the elections by defeating BJP’s Braham Singh by a margin of 64,352 votes.

• On 18 April 2017, Amanatullah alleged that some Congress workers fired at him during a clash between two parties in Jamia Nagar, New Delhi, just before municipal elections. Khan claimed that the firing happened in the presence of police. The officials, however, did not find any evidence of firing.

• Khan defeated Braham Singh again in the 2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections by a margin of 71,827 votes.
