Some Lesser Known Facts About Ritwik Das
- Ritwik started playing football after watching the FIFA World Cup in 2006 with his father. He fell in love with the game after watching Ronaldinho’s game in the match.
- Ritwik’s professional youth career started at 13. He used to travel for five hours from Asansol to Kolkata with his mother, three to four days a week to attend the training sessions at Mohun Bagan Academy in Kolkata.
- After spending two years in the Mohun Bagan Academy, Ritwik’s professional journey in football started with Calcutta Customs where he spent two seasons, one season in the first division of the Calcutta Football League (CFL), and one in the Premiere division of the Calcutta Football League (CFL).
- After Calcutta Customs, Ritwik later moved to Kalighat Milan Sangha. He spent two years there before moving to Real Kashmir FC in the second division of the I-League.
- Ritwik helped Real Kashmir FC win the second division I-League. He scored two goals in three games in the second-division I-League playoffs to help his side get promoted to the Hero I-League.
- Ritwik made his I-League debut for Real Kashmir on 11 December 2018 at EMS Stadium against Shillong Lajong. He came as a substitute in the match in the 77th minute.
- On 20 November 2020, Ritwik debuted for Kerala Blasters against ATK Mohun Bagan.
- Ritwik scored his maiden Indian Super League goal for Jamshedpur FC against Mumbai City on 17 February 2022. He contributed with 4 goals in 17 appearances and won the 2021–22 Indian Super League League Winners Shield with the club.
- Ritwik was part of India’s squad which won the 2023 Hero Tri-Nation International Football Tournament.
